May 1, 2019 VIENNA (VA) – The Government Business Executive Forum (GBEF) and the US Embassy of France is pleased to announce the agenda for our annual US-France program titled “Smart Government International Summit” to be held May 23, 2019 at the US Embassy of France in Washington DC.

As recognized by President Macron in his address last month, France is our Nation’s first and longest major ally. France is also recognized as a global force. In technology and importantly, in governance that must accompany the adoption of technologies that enable smart infrastructure and smart public safety.

This program is one of many produced by the Government Business Executive Forum that contribute to the agenda of the GBEF’s flagship event, CES Government 2020.

Christopher Amon has been the chief of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF’s) Firearms Operations Division since February of 2019. In this role, Special Agent Amon oversees the National Integrated Ballistics Information Network (NIBIN), the NIBIN National Correlation and Training Center (NNCTC), and ATF’s Crime Gun Intelligence Programs. He is also Chairman of the National Crime Gun Intelligence Governing Board, which consists of Chiefs of Police, United States Attorneys,
District Attorneys, and Laboratory Directors from major cities who advise ATF on policies related to Crime Gun Intelligence.
As an ATF Special Agent in the Denver Field Division in 2005 he worked on investigations focusing on violent crime and firearms
trafficking committed by criminal organizations. In 2012, he moved to ATF Headquarters in Washington, D.C., where he worked in Public and Governmental Affairs, where he helped draft firearms trafficking legislation. Special Agent Amon would later serve as Group Supervisor in the Denver Field Division’s Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) in 2015.

Dale McFee, OOM
Deputy Chief of Police, Edmonton Police Department (Canada)

Chief Dale R. McFee, OOM is the 23rd Police Chief for the Edmonton Police Service. He has an extensive background in
policing, including 26 years as a police officer in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan (nine years as Chief of Police) and six years as the
Deputy Minister of Corrections and Policing in the Ministry of Justice for the Saskatchewan government. He has been promoted by the Governor General of Canada to the Officer of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces. He is a Governor General Leadership alumnus, former Citizen of the Year within his home community, and the recipient of a Provincial Policing Leadership award. He lectures nationally and internationally on the topics of leadership and change management in private and public sector organizations.

Eric Gillespie

Widely regarded as one of the government tech sector’s top data scientists, Eric Gillespie built the Govini data analytics platform
to provide government and corporations an analytics-driven engine on government acquisition, mission and performance.
Govini’s research and analyses are accessed daily by thousands of customers across government and industry. Gillespie is an
entrepreneur and partner in Vlano Capital, and is an active member of the Harvard Business School – Rock Center for Entrepreneurship.

Social Networks in the USA-Canada, UK-Europe and China-Asia. He coaches several startups dealing with international business
development such as CityZen where he gained two « innovation awards » at the CES Las Vegas (2014 & 2015).

Commander Jose L. Rivero

Miami-Dade Police Department

Commander Jose L. Rivero oversees all technology initiatives and security policies for the Miami-Dade Police Department, the
largest police department in the Southeastern United States with over 4700 employees including 3200 sworn officers. He is also
responsible for the implementation of MDPD’s Real – Time Crime Center which began operations in January of 2015. With over 20
years of experience in the technology field, he is also MDPD’s certified Local Agency Security Officer as designated by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He is a graduate of Florida International University.
