Since launching his professional career over 30 years ago, Steve has participated in all aspects of the marketing and media continuum – including senior positions in a wide range of media companies as well as in a leading DC-based advertising and public relations firm.
In May, 2017, Steve was appointed president of GovernmentCIO Media.
Steve’s career includes president of Government Executive Media Group, a division of Atlantic Media; publisher of Federal Computer Week (FCW); president of sales and marketing for FedScoop; and co-creator of a successful TV program called Government Matters which airs on ABC7 and NewsChannel 8. He was also the executive vice president for Sage Communications, a leading advertising and public relations firms in the DC market.
Steve has been involved with the planning and implementation of a range of live events and conferences including The Excellence in Government Conference and CES Government.
Prior to entering the DC media market, Steve spent the early portion of his career with several of renowned B2B publishing powerhouses: Fairchild Publications, McGraw-Hill and IDG Communications.
During his career, Steve has come to appreciate the importance of using a variety of tools to effectively and efficiently communicate a marketing message. Today, both traditional and digital media serve key roles in achieving the common marketing goals. Moreover, earned media, paid media, social media, sponsored content, and marketing automation platforms (MAP), are all vital ingredients in today’s marketing communications plans.
